If you’re looking for a new artist or even some new music, the most recent album from the indie band, the Marias, is perfect for those dreamy floaty days. The album Submarine is absolutely brilliant, with its underwater thematics, captivating imagery, and quality music. And listening to it was, just a dream. The project itself is insanely catchy, with each song strong enough on its own it could’ve been THE single, while also being super repeatable. Written during a time of emotional duress for the band, the tracks on this album reflect themes of melancholy, mental health, and even just saying goodbye to memories that you may have held close to your heart. In particular, even though I’d say start from the top and go down, some of my favorite songs from the album were Paranoia or No One Noticed. This was solely because both tracks authentically encapsulated vulnerability about fear, loneliness and so many more things. But don’t take my word for it, give it a listen!
